Cardiff singer (cont.)
Now we’ve got a rather sweet-faced, beefcake Russian baritone, singing a chunk of “Die Tote Stadt”. Velvety, but again rather inexpressive. Andrei Bondarenko, two years ago, made me cry with this same aria. Not this chap, I’m afraid.
Not remotely Renner-related…
Cardiff Singer of the World (round 2) is on BBC 4.
Currently, a v pretty Hungarian mezzo singing Russalka’s “Song to the moon”. Her voice is a lovely instrument, but rather unexpressive. She’s wearing an amazing “Hey - look at me - see my BOOBS” dress…

Oh. My. Goodness. How does he have the right to be so damn pretty?
Yup.
My favourite cafe in Kingston, Montezuma’s, does a hot chocolate with maple syrup in, called “The Large Canadian” and every time I eat there and bury my nose in one of those, this is the chap I think of…

Jeremy Renner - Role Appreciation
William Brandt | Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol
"If you are going to learn from other writers don’t only read the great ones, because if you do that you’ll get so filled with despair and the fear that you’ll never be able to do anywhere near as well as they did that you’ll stop writing. I recommend that you read a lot of bad stuff, too. It’s very encouraging. “Hey, I can do so much better than this.” Read the greatest stuff but read the stuff that isn’t so great, too. Great stuff is very discouraging."
EDWARD ALBEE
I’ll add to this: few things have been as inspiring to me as reading or watching something that is just a giant pile of crap, so I know that if *this* crap got published/made/released, whatever I’m working on is certainly worthy of the effort.
